Efforts in Ukraine Update

Luke_Sciulli_Update_01.jpg

I apologize my initial update has taken longer than expected to get delivered. Still, I wanted to take a quick second to give you a brief overview of what we've accomplished mainly exclusively off of your donations (more info below.)

So within this short period of time, I and three others have pushed from Poland well into Ukraine. We carried as much equipment as possible across the border to help and assist at hospitals. Approximately 18,000 dollars' worth of tactical medical supplies were hand-delivered to three different military units, including one of the Ukrainian Special Forces Units I worked with previously. The units received much-needed tourniquets, chest seals, airway management equipment, bleeding control bandages, IFAKs, and much more.

Our first medical team pushed east and south to help treat casualties in frontline hospitals suffering from war injuries. The team and I are still here but have executed over 50 surgical operations and 100 additional procedures such as wound treatment, shrapnel removal, and burn dressing changes.

Our second team was sent to Kyiv to help with the massacre that occurred in Irpin and Bucha. You can Google the events Kyiv to gain a better understanding of what they were doing and what was happening in those two areas. The team will proceed further to Chernihiv to do an assessment there and assist with recovery.

A third team is conducting trauma and damage control resuscitation courses in western and central Ukraine. Additionally, they will focus on medical courses and tactical combat casualty care courses.

As I write this, we push the fourth team to Donetsk (google the area for more information) to assist with high volume and high acuity combat care. Donetsk is located extremely close to the front lines, and with the latest advanced of Russian forces is highly likely that they will have to fall back to a safer area to support them.

As I mentioned earlier, the funds you supplied and donated have driven our operations. Initially, we were doing assessments and evaluations for the World Health Organization in hopes that they would further fund our operation to continue to support what we are doing. Unfortunately, we have not received any other financial assistance from any government or non-government organization as of today. So thank you for all that you've done!

Very Respectfully,

Our Tournament Mission

More than 3 million people have fled Ukraine, and experts predict 7 million will be forced to leave before the conflict is over. Neighboring countries, including Poland, Romania, and Hungary, see the biggest waves of people escaping the violence. KCAP Cares will be donating the tournament's proceeds to support those in need and displaced by the violence.
