Tie left KPMG to take a position that ultimately became CFO for one of his clients that were in the private equity space. Tie continued his real estate portfolio on the side.
Tie and Boone went full time in real estate investing.
KeyCity Capital was founded by the Managing Partners Tie, Boone, and Leigh and launched their first 5 million private equity fund. They acquired more than 100 homes in under 90 days along with two multifamily properties. Another future partner, Charlie Dombek began lending his private capital in the asset-back alternative investment industry.

KeyCity Capital continued their massive trajectory acquiring more than 225 properties. They increased their multifamily portfolio to 6 properties, hired 6 full-time employees, and formed an in-house Property Management Company.

Tie while working as an accountant at KPMG bought his first foreclosure property.
Tie bought his second flip property.
Tie and his brother Boone joined forces and used some of their capital as well as some inheritance to scale their business flipping properties.
Tie and Boone had their most successful year transacting 14 properties and acquired their first two multifamily properties.
In early 2020, KeyCity Capital diversified its investment opportunities and launched two new real estate investment funds and an asset-backed lending fund. Assets under management grew to $350 million including the acquisition of their first commercial office building which houses the main corporate office in Southlake, Texas. Staffing increased to 25 employees in 3 office locations.
